SOUTH OF MARKET - A 47-year-old man was tragically killed Thursday afternoon when he was struck by a large truck, Mercury News reported. SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY - A 59-year-old Las Vegas resident driving a 2012 Chevy Impala was rear-ended by a big-rig yesterday morning in the Mojave Desert, The Press-Enterprise reported. The horrific collision happened at 10:46 a.m. on the northbound lanes of Interstate 15, just north of Baker. The Las Vegas woman, identified by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner's Department as Juanita Mullin, died at the scene Monday. No further information was released. Two Killed in Big-Rig Crash on Highway 65

TULARE COUNTY -- According to the Fresno Bee, two people were tragically killed Tuesday night when the motorcycle they were traveling in collided with a big-rig 15 miles south of Porterville. The fatal accident happened at about 5:30 p.m. on state Route 65 and Avenue 24, when the 59-year-old motorcyclist and his 55-year-old female passenger attempted to overtake a big-rig that was making a left turn onto Avenue 24 from the southbound lane of the highway.

Following this April 24th accident, the motorcyclist and his passenger, were thrown from their 2008 Harley Davidson. Nine Injured When Converted Tour Bus Rolls Over in Interstate 5 Crash

KERN COUNTY - Multiple news sources reported the driver of a big-rig rear-ended a converted tour bus along Interstate 5 in Bakersfield at about 6 a.m. Tuesday. The tour bus owned by Epic Proportions, was headed to Sonoma State University with numerous musicians including Thomas King, Gabe Kubanba, Peter Sotos, and the band Lost in Atlantis. According to the Fresno Bee, the truck driver of a 2008 Kenworth truck, reached down for a beef jerky and slammed into the rear of the bus, which then slid into the dirt median and overturned.

Kero 23 News reported the truck driver was also traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck the bus on the slow lane of Interstate 5. Following the accident, nine people in the 1987 International Blue Bird bus were hurt. Three sustained moderate injuries, including one of the individuals suffering a broken leg. The 39-year-old truck driver was not injured in the crash.

Semi-Truck Accident in Sacramento Injures Three

Tanker Truck on a highway.jpgSACRAMENTO -- A semi-truck traveling on Interstate 5 in Sacramento created a chain-reaction crash involving several vehicles Wednesday morning. At about 3:20 a.m., the driver of a big-rig lost control of his tanker truck on the I-5 south near Pocket Road, and struck a Honda Accord that was then rear ended by another big-rig. According to KCRA News, the Accord appeared to be almost flattened due the severity of the collision.

The driver of the tanker truck told police that he hit a bump on the rode and spun out of control. CHP Sgt. Bill Languemi indicated wet roads may have contributed to the crash. After the dreadful accident, the driver of the Accord was taken to a hospital with critical injuries. Two others were taken to a hospital with less severe injuries.

One Killed, Two Injured in Indio Tractor-Trailer Accident on Interstate 10

RIVERSIDE COUNTY - A horrendous collision involving two tractor-trailers and three vehicles left a Redwood City man dead and two others injured in Indio Friday morning. According to The Desert Sun, the 8 a.m. crash occurred when a tractor-trailer driver, Jaswinder Singh, 50, of Madera, suddenly braked for unknown reasons while traveling east on Interstate 10.

The abrupt braking of the tractor-trailer caused a big-rig behind him to swerve into the next lane. That big-rig driver, Howard Sands, 52, of Tempe, Ariz., sideswiped Singh and rear-ended a 2011 Dodge. Sands truck then continued to the left and sideswiped a 2008 Jaguar in the fast lane, which caused his big-rig to hit the center median guardrail and jackknife before coming to a stop. Meanwhile, another vehicle struck Sands truck while the truck was at rest, and another veered off to the side of the road and came to a stop at a dirt embankment.

Following this chain-reaction collision, the driver of the Dodge, 53-year-old Harry Griffith, was reported to have died from this accident. Sands and Stephen Dehn, 61, of Palm Springs, who was the driver of one of the other vehicles, were taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs with moderate injuries. Singh along with the occupants in the Jaguar were not injured after the crash.

Bicyclist Fatally Struck by Big Rig in Fresno

ashlanave.jpgFRESNO - A 73-year-old man very tragically died Friday afternoon after he was struck and run over by a tractor-trailer while cycling in Fresno, the Fresno Bee reported. The fatal accident occurred at about noon at the Ashlan Avenue offramp from northbound Highway 99. The Fresno Bee reported a witness saw the cyclist, Charles Sarray, 73, riding west on Ashlan Avenue as the wide-load truck was coming off the freeway and turning left. It is unclear who had the right-of-way and if the truck driver and cyclist were following traffic signals. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

FRESNO COUNTY -- A fiery big-rig crash along Highway 180 near Mendota killed three people and seriously injured another at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, The Fresno Bee reported. According to the CHP, a 1991 Ford Escort was traveling east on the highway when it veered onto the westbound lane and collided head-on with a big-rig driven by 49-year-old Maria Mendoza. The impact of the collision caused a diesel spill and sparked a fire that engulfed the big-rig in flames.

The driver of the Ford, 37-year-old Felicito Escalante, his passenger 45-year-old Maria Castorena, and Mendoza, were killed following this tragic accident. Mendoza's passenger, 50-year-old Jose Perez, was ejected from the truck after he was sleeping in the compartment. He was then transported to a hospital with major injuries. UPS Driver Killed in San Bernardino Big-Rig Accident on Interstate 15

UPS Tractor Trailer.pngSAN BERNARDINO COUNTY - A UPS driver operating his big-rig was tragically killed in a Wednesday morning wreck in San Bernardino. According to The Press-Enterprise, the collision occurred at 6:53 a.m. on the Cajon Pass of north Interstate 15 when a 2005 Nissan 350Z, reported to be speeding, swerved into the center divider for unknown reasons, then veered back across traffic lanes and collided with the big-rig's left front wheel.

CHP indicated the UPS driver, identified as Alfred Eclipse Jr., 66, of Norwalk, tried to avoid the accident, but unfortunately collided and therefore, his big-rig went off the right shoulder of the road, overturned onto its side and down an embankment. Following the horrific accident, Eclipse's cab was crushed and caused him to be trapped inside. He was reported to have died at the scene. The driver of the Nissan, Nathan Herbert, 32, of San Bernardino, suffered minor injuries after the incident.

One Killed, One Injured in Big Bear Tractor-Trailer Crash on Highway 18

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY -- A horrendous accident involving a big-rig and an SUV left one person dead and another injured Friday morning. According to The Press-Enterprise, Fred Riley, 51, of Menifee, was traveling west on Highway 18 in a Peterbilt dump truck when for unknown reasons his trailer collided with the mountainside as he entered through a curve on the road.

The 11 a.m. collision, which happened east of Paradise Way, dislodged the trailer from the truck and caused the gravel box to separate from the trailer frame. The gravel box came to a complete stop on the opposite side of the freeway, and the trailer frame landed onto opposing traffic and struck a 2005 Kia Sorrento.

After the crash, Riley was reported to be uninjured. However, the driver of the SUV - 37-year-old Big Bear City resident Leonor De Coronado - was taken to the Bear Valley Hospital, where she later died due to her injuries. Her 16-year-old daughter who was the passenger in the vehicle was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center for further treatment.
